Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour takes the Pepsi Center stage from January 6 through January 8, and there are some very exciting things in store for this lucky audience.

This is a special production that is “a pop rock concert that meets Cirque Du Soleil,” as explained by Maxime Charbonneau, the publicist for the production.

“Michael was a huge Cirque fan,” explains Charbonneau, “he saw most of our touring shows in Los Angeles and he even visited the professional headquarters in Montreal. He was a great admirer and he had a lot of respect for the company and the artistry behind the show. He was a huge fan, and he always said that one day he would like to do something with Cirque Du Soleil.” So when the opportunity presented itself, there was already an established relationship. “We contacted the estate and we began working on the tribute right away.”

There are actually many people involved in the production that have worked with Michael in the past as well. In fact, four members of their 12 piece band played with Michael at one time or another.

The Cirque Du Soleil Choreographer, Travis Payne, was Michael Jackson’s choreographer for almost 20 years. And Zaldy Goco, who was the original costume designer on Michael Jackson’s This Is It Tour, designed the costumes for this production. It is a true testament to artists coming together to pay tribute to this legendary man. “When the show creation started,” offers Charbonneau, “all these artists came in and explained that they were doing this for Michael. It wasn’t about them, it was about Michael.”

“A lot of people go into the show thinking they know who Michael Jackson really was. But then you leave the show and they say they have a much better understanding of who he was as a person.”

“There are 30 dancers, 25 acrobats and a 12 piece band, so it really is a pop concert that meets Cirque Du Soleil.”

This unique blend is taking the Pepsi Center stage very soon, so get your tickets while they last, and do not miss your opportunity to catch this rare glimpse into the life of Michael Jackson and into his music, all while being entertained in the way that can only be found with Cirque Du Soleil.

Tickets start at $50.
