Insurance company for This is it Tour doesn't want to pay out
Lloyd's of London has filed a suit against the Michael Jackson Company and AEG asking a judge to declare null the policy, claiming it doesn't owe the Michael Jackson Estate the $17.5 million of the policy that was taken to cover the This is it Tour, as a result of alleged fraud.
Lloyd's of London claims it doesn't have to honor the policy because Michael Jackson and AEG allegedly lied about Michael's medical history, and specifically, Michael Jackson said he had not seen a doctor other than a cosmetic MD since June, 2005.
Also, Michael Jackson did not disclose he was taking prescription drugs and Propofol.
However, Michael Jackson had fully passed the medical examinations, as evidenced by the medical certificates which attested his good health and physical shape, with no trace of drug abuse, as confirmed by the coroner's autopsy report.
Previously, Lloyd's of London claimed they would not have paid only in the case that Murray had been convicted.
Howard Weitzman, the lawyer for the Estate, said: "This legal action is nothing more than an insurance company trying to avoid paying a legitimate claim by the insured".
